NOW HIRING: Chief Technology Officer

Company: Metabolic Living
Website: https://www.metabolicliving.com
Headquarters: Wilmington, North Carolina, United States

This is a unique opportunity to take over as the company’s technical lead (web, mobile, e-comm) for our rapidly growing, profitable, $40MM+ direct-to-consumer metabolic optimization business. We want someone to cultivate a high-performing, yet humble environment that treats people well.

Plus, we’ve ALWAYS been 100% virtual and all work from home… and who doesn’t want that right now?

Hello, I’m Marc Stockman, CEO and co-founder of Metabolic Living. We’ve had some great developers, but never a true leader of all things tech because it hasn’t been necessary. However, now it is. And I’m looking for a true needle-in-a-haystack to sprint along side me as we execute on our next growth leg.

Our mission at Metabolic Living is to make our metabolism-first lifestyle the worldwide standard for healthy living. Even without the current pandemic, people struggle with their health, confused by so many competing options that don’t get results. So, we’ve developed a simple process anybody can follow to optimize their metabolism to deliver the energy their body needs to thrive.

We run on a LAMP stack on AWS, have a team of 3 developers (100+ people in company) and now need a senior tech leader to help us achieve our next growth target of $100MM and beyond. You have the opportunity to build out the perfect team the way YOU see fit. We do not yet have a mobile technical strategy in place, so this is an opportunity for you to define that as well.

The ideal candidate is both a high-caliber, full-stack developer and systems architect who loves to code, as well as a fantastic manager who is very marketing- and consumer-oriented and business-savvy. We only want someone who has been there and done that as we have lots of wood to chop on the business end. We need to rely on a steady proven rock as leader of all things tech to get things done.

And it’s a HUGE plus if you’re passionate about health and wellness :-)

Yes, we know we’re asking for someone unique, but we’re putting this out there anyway to find the right candidate, with a robust compensation package to reflect this unique challenge. If you’re interested, you’ll find the full story of our company below – we’re only interested in talking to people who are inspired by this and want to be a part of this amazing journey we’re on.

In spite of the crisis the world is in, we’re thriving, and in fact growing, because of the products and services we sell. Our goal is to build a $1 billion dollar consumer brand by 2023 and technology will play an enormously important role in achieving that. We’re just putting the finishing touches on our re-branding efforts (more on that below) and will be launching our flagship e-commerce website in 2-3 months. That will be followed by a robust app that simplifies everything for consumers this Fall.

We’re particularly excited about the app as it will be the future of the company as we integrate our propriety Metabolic OS and automate customized meal plans, workouts and lifestyle changes that truly reflect the uniqueness of each individual. And how that uniqueness changes over time in response to changes in your physiology, psychology, preferences and other lifestyle factors.
If you’re a proven tech leader who knows how to both build and manage a team in a fast-moving environment and is a truly high-caliber end-to-end full stack web and mobile developer and…
  • You LOVE to build things to perfection, but know how to iterate rapidly to gain traction…
  • You LOVE working on consumer-facing websites, applications and architecture
  • You LOVE everything e-commerce-related and have deep experience in payments…
  • You LOVE building apps with the right tech so things “just work” flawlessly…
  • You LOVE to think, solve complex problems and get a rush when your builds go live…
Then please read on as you’re the ideal candidate… and we’d love to talk to you ASAP.

To summarize the key points:
  • Salary: $150,000 - $250,000
  • Location: 100% Remote (virtual team of 100+ with no corporate office)
  • Benefits: Full Insurance (health, dental & long-term disability) + Robust 401k
  • Hours: 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (preferably Eastern time but flexible for right candidate)
  • Culture: High-Performance but Humble (no jerks) that Creates Space for Deep Work
  • Personality: Obsessed with Details so We can Simplify the Complex for Others

Who is This Opportunity Perfect for?

This is the perfect opportunity for a tech leader who loves to roll up their sleeves and code, enjoys building teams and who has an unstoppable drive for excellence and might relate to any of these:

If you’re drowning in the corporate or agency world, suffocating from lack of clarity, incessant scope creep, micromanaging bosses, endless meetings, constant interruptions and no respect for the quiet time you need to actually get work done, this is your opportunity to simplify and go deep – to pour your heart and soul into ONE big opportunity… and scale it like never before.

Or, if you’ve tried the freelance thing, but found it challenging or simply not fun doing the sales and marketing piece to land new clients so you could provide yourself or your family with a steady income, this is your opportunity find a long-term home with an organization who cares and who will constantly put fun, meaningful and challenging projects on your plate to keep things exciting and interesting.

Or, if you’ve been at a fast-growing start-up, but they haven’t turned the corner and learned how to grow without the stress, how to deliver results without working past 5 p.m., how to not burn the candle at both ends, how to create a profitable business model that doesn’t depend on the whims of VC or PE world to provide the next round of funding… this is your opportunity to take back control, live life under your own terms and design a lifestyle that brings you joy, happiness and satisfaction.

Regardless of your situation, whether you prefer to work in the quiet of your own home, sipping a delicious cup of coffee at your favorite coffee shop, or outside enjoying the sunshine on a bright, beautiful day… AND you are a humble, high-performing individual who would THRIVE in this type of environment, then please read on, as we can’t wait to meet you.

Who Are We and What’s the Company’s Background?

Metabolic Living’s mission is to empower people to thrive EVERY day so they can enjoy life to the fullest. And our vision is to do this by making our metabolism-first lifestyle become the worldwide standard for healthy living. It’s a flexible, fun lifestyle that’s 100% focused on delivering the results that matter: feeling your best, looking your best and performing your best. In the shortest time possible.

It puts YOU back in control. It helps YOU understand how your body and metabolism works. It empowers YOU to fix your own problems. And because it alleviates the frustration and confusion so many of us experience when trying to fix our health, it makes you want to tell the world about it.
Our goal is to grow into a billion-dollar multi-channel brand that’s distributed via online, mobile and physical retail. For 10 years, we’ve been painstakingly building the products, services, framework, team and culture to make this happen. We have a robust, mature, complete and profitable business model with scalable customer acquisition. And now we’re pushing into a massive new growth phase.

We’ve built a full ecosystem of products that allow someone to live a metabolism-first lifestyle. This includes exercise and nutrition programs, nutraceuticals, functional foods, memberships and coaching programs. We’re launching our mobile app later this year, then will push into offline retail, extend into home-delivered meals and more. But ONE thing at a time, just like we’ve done for 9 years.
Our next major step is rolling out our new Metabolic Living brand and centralized e-commerce website at www.metabolicliving.com, scheduled to be live in first half of 2020. We will consolidate into this centralized website our various product-branded microsites.

So why is a metabolism-first lifestyle needed? Because there are record amounts of sick, overweight, tired and depressed people piling up around the world. We’re over-worked, over-stressed, over-fed and full of toxins. And we’re deprived of the sleep, nutrition, movement and relaxation we need to thrive.

Unfortunately, the typical solution of extreme dieting and exercise traps people into a 1-step-forward, 2-steps back vicious cycle that makes them worse off. They bounce from one latest flavor-of-the-month program to the next, never making progress… trapped in a downward spiral of increasing desperation.

And philosophies like Paleo or Vegan, while extremely healthy for some, create a rigid us-vs-them tribal mentality that’s self-limiting. Neither of those philosophies work for all people all the time… or even the same person all the time. People differ. Bodies change. If that’s not respected, things will backfire.

The answer? Instead of trying to FIND the perfect program, you need to CREATE their own – one that respects how YOUR body works. And that’s where our metabolism-first framework comes in.
It empowers you with a repeatable, customizable method to optimize your metabolism. Because we’ve found through working with millions of people that a fully optimized metabolism is what delivers the results everyone wants – feeling their best, looking their best and performing their best, EVERY day.

So, instead of fighting against your body and getting inconsistent results with a one-size fits all program or protocol, we teach you to work with your body to enjoy consistent results by building your OWN perfect customized program. One that’s practical, enjoyable and sustainable… and starts working fast.

NOW HIRING: Senior Engineer (Javascript)

Company: Sked Social
Website: https://skedsocial.com
Headquarters: Melbourne, Australia

Sked Social helps our customers schedule and manage their content on Instagram and other social media platforms.

We work with customers from small businesses through to global brands, and everything in between. We're a startup with a team of ~15, profitable and scaling up our offering to customers.

We are looking for an experienced Javascript developer/engineer to be part of our team.

We operate on a MERN stack, and our team generally works across the full stack rather than just back or front end (although, of course, you might have more experience with one than another!).

We have a fully remote team distributed around the world and have always worked in this model, so we know how to do remote effectively. We work hard to keep our customers around the globe happy, and we're proud of our success over the last 5+ years.

You'll be collaborating particularly with our other engineers in Australia and the US, and the broader team which is based in the US, Europe and Australia. Our company has a flat structure, so you’ll report to the Founder but work closely with other teams where needed.

Your mission

The core mission of our engineers is to build a product that our customers will love. You will work hard to create new features, refactor code, and build new services entirely in collaboration with your engineering colleagues and our product team. You will bring your past experience to help us iterate rapidly and build for the future.

Your role

We'll know you are successful when you:
  • Become the 'engineering owner' of both some existing feature areas and new ones
  • Actively collaborate with your engineering colleagues and the product team
  • Put yourself in the shoes of the customer and try to understand what they need
  • Deploy bug-free code to production that is easily maintainable
  • Improve code quality as you work
  • Work on short release cycles to iteratively test and refine our platform

Our stack

We use a fairly plain MEAN stack: NodeJS/Express, MongoDb, and React and AngularJS (1) (we are progressively migrating everything to React, so it’s a bit of one and the other). We also use Redis for session management.

Our servers are all in AWS, and we make use of tech like Elastic Beanstalk to make DevOps easy.
It'd be great if you have experience working in an agile/kanban environment with Git for SCM (branching, merging, pull requests – we use GitFlow as our workflow).

Experience designing and writing unit tests within frameworks such as Mocha and Karma is also helpful.

Of course, you should be comfortable working with a command line (Unix/Linux, SSH).

Your experience & skills

You're a fit for this role if you:
  • Have several years of experience working with NodeJS and a MEAN or MERN stack (required)
  • Have shipped product (that is, something people paid for!) in a B2B SaaS environment in the past (required)
  • Have worked full time remotely in the past (preferred)
  • Love working in a small team
  • Understand when you need to build a quick and basic MVP ('hack it') and when to build a 'kitchen sink'
  • Are not afraid of debugging complicated issues or working on refactoring/updating older code
  • Want to hit the ground running and get straight into the 'thick of it'
  • Can collaborate across timezones and have flexible availability to work with a global team
  • Love deploying well-tested and effective code to production
  • Like to work on a mix of new projects and improvements to existing features
  • Some understanding or experience in social media management and/or social networks (from a business users' perspective or their API) is a plus, but definitely not required.

Apply now to be considered (including a short covering note to introduce yourself) and I'll be in touch (Rebecca).

Company: Noom
Website: https://www.noom.com

At Noom, we use scientifically proven methods to help our users create healthier lifestyles, and manage important conditions like Type-II Diabetes, Obesity, and Hypertension. Our Engineering team is at the forefront of this challenge, solving complex technical and UX problems on our mobile apps that center around habits, behavior, and lifestyle.

We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our Data team and help us ensure that we apply the best approaches to data analysis and research, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.

What You’ll Like About Us:

  • We base our work on scientifically-proven, peer-reviewed methodologies that are designed by medical professionals.
  • We are a data-driven company through and through.
  • We’re a respectful, diverse, and dynamic environment in which Engineering is a first-class citizen, and where you’ll be able to work on a variety of interesting problems that affect the lives of real people.
  • We offer a generous budget for personal development expenses like training courses, conferences, and books.
  • You’ll get three weeks’ paid vacation and a flexible work policy that is remote- and family-friendly (about 50% of our engineering team is fully remote). We worry about results, not time spent in seats.

What We’ll Like About You:
  • You have 4+ years of experience as a Data Scientist or Data Analyst in a similarly-sized organization, with a proven record of analysis and research that positively impacts your team.
  • You possess excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience
  • You possess excellent SQL/relational algebra skills, ideally with at least a basic knowledge of how different types of databases (e.g.: column vs row storage) work.
  • You have a superior knowledge of statistical analysis methods, such as input selection, logistic and standard regression, etc.
  • You are comfortable writing Python code, and have good working knowledge of pandas and numpy. We don’t expect you to write production-quality code, but you should have some programming experience.
  • You are comfortable with at least “medium data” technologies and how to transcend the “memory bound” nature of most analytics tools.

NOW HIRING: Full Stack Software Engineer (Node.js, React, AWS)

Company: Deep Consulting Solutions
Website: https://www.deepconsulting.solutions
Headquarters: Austin, Texas, United States

(Remote, Full-Time, Anywhere in the World)

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Full Stack Software Engineer to join our Tech Team to build and scale effective software solutions. We are in need of an enthusiastic self-starter with expertise in Node.js, React, and other technologies.

What We Do

We work with niche companies in the US, Canada, the UK to restructure and automate their operation so that their businesses can grow 5-10x. We do that by effectively analyzing their business, streamlining their processes, and designing an effective automation solution that we then implement on our robust IT stack.

We make extensive use of technologies that help us accomplish results with less work — making everyone inside of our global organization more effective.

We heavily leverage:

Amazon AWS's serverless technologies and microservices for our front-end, back-end, and mobile apps (Lambda, Amplify, Cognito, S3, etc.).

Zoho's CRM and ERP Tools (Desk, Books, etc.).

Vonage/Nexmo-based telephony and communications solutions (Vonage Business Phone, Nexmo Voice/SMS, OpenTalk, etc.).

We are always looking for new technologies and welcome team members adding things to our technology stack so we can deliver more results more effectively.

What You Will Do

As an Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering the solution as per requirements put together by our Creative and Business Analysis Teams. Depending on your level, you will be responsible for either the entire project (with other engineers working in your project team) or for a part of it.
Your ultimate deliverable will be to effectively build a solution that will be implemented in the client's business and run successfully going forward.

In doing so, you will:
  • Design and architect complex solutions involving web apps (front+back), custom CRM/ERP's, programmable telephony, and occasionally mobile apps.
  • Deliver and implement your solutions.
  • Create effective monitoring of the solutions for effective usage and scalability.
  • Do anything else you deem necessary to accomplish your result.

Requirements

You are:
  • Responsible and driven by results.
  • Genuinely interested in technology.
  • Willing to learn, grow, and admit mistakes.
  • Able to communicate with other people on the project's team effectively.

You have:
  • A solid knowledge of Node.js, React, SQL and NoSQL databases to build our front and back end solutions.
  • Experience with APIs to integrate applications with each other.
  • Effective written and verbal English to communicate with our international team.
  • Basic understanding of DevOps and SDLC to cooperate with other developers in building the product.

Will be a good plus:
  • Experience with Amazon AWS, serverless technologies, and microservices on its platform.
  • Experience with CRM and ERP systems such as Zoho and others.

What We Offer
  • Results-Focused Approach to Work
  • We do not look at people's activities, the number of lines of code written, etc., as the measure of success. We look strictly at the results in effectively delivered products.
  • Financial Rewards for Exceptional Results
  • Successfully completed projects serve as the basis for financial bonuses and compensation plans.
  • Freely Arranged Schedule
  • You decide when you want to work. What we expect from you are results. There is a daily stand-up call — but outside of it, you can manage your schedule as you prefer.
  • Work as an Engineer, Not Just a Coder
  • Our Engineers work to build solutions and not just to write code. You will have freedom in how you want to architect the solutions you are making and we will heavily encourage initiative on your part.
  • Growth Within Our Organization
  • We are a dynamic and growing organization with a team spread around multiple continents. If you prove yourself as a responsible, driven and motivated individual, there will be opportunities for you to lead projects and manage tech teams.

Our candidate selection process is designed to assess people strictly by their merit. We do not make you go through a long round of interviews, instead, we follow a straight-forward sequence:
  1. Job Application Form.
  2. Online Skills Assessment.
  3. Interview.
  4. Paid Practical Assignment.
  5. Evaluation and Offer.

NOW HIRING: US Expat Tax Accountant

Company: Greenback Expat Tax Services
Website: https://www.greenbacktaxservices.com
Headquarters: Grandville, Michigan, United States

Location: Remote, work from home, any time zone or geography

Greenback Expat Tax Services is a company that specializes in preparing tax returns for Americans living overseas. We are a highly energetic, positive, resourceful team working virtually across the globe. We believe that executional excellence is key to success.

At Greenback, we provide you with the tools that you need to be successful and we bring our clients to you so that you can focus on preparing expat taxes and providing exceptional customer care!
This is not a traditional JOB- it’s more like a business partnership- and is ideally suited for those folks who love the idea of their earning potential being tied to their individual accomplishments, are obsessively organized and have a natural flair for customer care.

What we’re looking for:
  • CPAs or EAs with 3-5 years of experience preparing US expat tax returns, including specific experience with the additional forms and schedules required for expats (1116, 2555, FinCen 114, 5471, 3520, etc.)
  • People who are comfortable managing their own schedule and workload. There are no set hours- you get paid for the work you do and your results. You take on as many customers as you choose (we pre-agree annual targets)
  • People who see technology as an enabler and embrace it fully. We use state of the art systems (Salesforce, Box, ProSeries, and Lacerte).
  • People who are extremely organized, especially in managing around deadlines. This is a deadline-driven business, so anyone who gets frazzled near a tax deadline or disorganized will struggle.
  • Strong attention to detail. Mistakes on tax returns are not cool. We need people who make sure there’s never an error or an oversight.

Why work with Greenback?
  • Again, this is not a traditional 9 to 5. No one has set hours- you have specific responsibilities and obligations related to timeliness of customer care, but it’s up to you to set a schedule that meets those timings.
  • No office/no commute. You have ultimate flexibility to decide where you work from and when you work. Want to spend tax season in your home office and the slower season working a lighter load from Mexico or Bali or the coast of Spain? Many on our team do just that.
  • You get paid directly in proportion to how many tax returns you complete. Your earning potential is unlimited and a good number of the accountants on our team earn six figures. However, this is also very personal and is directly in relation to your skillset. If you’re a hustler, have high expertise in US expat tax prep, work hard and stay organized, this is a great opportunity for you.
  • We have frequent bonus opportunities for excellence in staying organized, timeliness and attention to detail. We’ve heard our accountants described as “personal tax time hero’s”-we compensate accountants above the standard per return pay for above and beyond customer care
  • This opportunity is an ideal fit for people who are happy to work on their own, but don’t want to manage the business logistics like marketing, customer acquisition, billing, customer service, etc
  • We’re maniacal about customer care- we expect everyone to have an experience with us that makes them want to go straight out and tell their friends how wonderful Greenback is. Accountants who feel that’s important thrive with us and love how happy their customers are at the end of each tax season.
  • You will have access to a peer group of 30+ accountants that are the best in the industry in regards to not just US expat taxes, but also customer centricity.

And the best news is- we’re hiring! The business is growing rapidly, and we’re looking to staff 5-10 more accountants this year alone. Apply today!!! To apply, take the following steps:
  • Fill out our online assessment
  • Attach to the online form not only your resume/CV, but also a cover letter
  • We will follow up with all candidates within 5 working days with next steps.
Candidates can be based anywhere in the world, this position is virtual/work from home.

NOW HIRING: Senior Software Engineer

Company: Wallaroo Labs
Website: https://www.wallaroolabs.com
Headquarters: New York, United States

Wallaroo Labs is working on a huge idea, and this is a phenomenal opportunity for a person who enjoys challenges. We want to enable organizations to harness the power of data
to realize their boldest ideas, much faster, and with greater efficiency than ever before - all without any data engineering.

Our goal is to deploy and operate high performance computing infrastructure so customers don't have to. That’s why we’re building next-generation tools like Wallaroo, a highly efficient stream-processing engine that scales to volumes that traditional big data solutions can’t.

Our technology runs as a service inside a client’s own environment, whether in any cloud, on-premise, or at the edge, and plays nicely with modern data, messaging, analytics, and machine learning ecosystems.

We believe this is a $40B+ market opportunity and we aim to take a good chunk of it. We’re a seed-stage company that’s raised $6M from some of the best enterprise software investors in NYC, and we’re looking for ambitious people to grow our team and our business, enhance our culture, and contribute great ideas.

The Position

We believe in hiring strong engineers and letting them apply their unique skills and experiences to make our team and product better. That said, there are a few must-have requirements that are needed to do well in our environment. Beyond those, we are looking for candidates who have skills that draw from our "nice to have qualifications" list.

Requirements:
  • Experience building high-volume data processing applications
  • Experience deploying and running production systems at scale
  • Experience analyzing and improving system performance
  • Experience developing software and deployment systems for AWS or other cloud providers
  • Experience developing on *Nix system (shell, scripts, tools, etc) with version control (e.g. git)
  • Self-motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, and good at async communication
  • A self-guided learner with the ability to pick up new skills and languages quickly
  • Desire to help those around you grow and learn from you
  • Thrive in an environment where the long-term goal remains stable but day-to-day needs may change quickly

Nice to Have Qualifications:
  • Experience running production systems
  • Prior experience working with customers either external or business-oriented
  • Experience working with/designing/building distributed systems
  • Experience developing multi-threaded programs
  • Experience using a "strongly typed" language
  • Experience developing compilers
  • Experience with supporting running systems
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code systems (Ansible, Terraform, Pulimi, etc)
  • Experience analyzing system performance
  • Experience developing for AWS or other cloud systems
  • Excellent teaching skills
  • Strong algorithmic and mathematical skills
  • Strong understanding of memory management (manual memory management, garbage collection)
  • Familiarity with open-source streaming data and message queuing technologies

Engineering Values

Distributed First

We are a fully distributed team with a base of operations in NYC and engineers ranging from California to the Netherlands. Our processes are always distributed first, with an emphasis on effective asynchronous communication.

Communication
  • One of our mottos is: “If it wasn’t communicated, it didn’t happen.” Communication is always crucial to effective collaboration, but in a distributed setting it becomes even more important.
  • Email, text chat, and documentation are important tools to communicate across time zones and geography. Voice conferences bring us together despite working in different countries.
  • We bring up concerns early, and share objectives, context and work progress in public. We value clarity and making assumptions explicit.
Lifelong Learning

We value a commitment to learning, and see the ability to quickly get up to speed on new languages, technologies, and ideas as just as important as specialized knowledge, if not more. We stress a growth mindset, and know that listening can take effort but is crucial to understanding.

Self-motivation and Accountability

Our engineers excel at working independently and flexibly collaborating with the right people for the job. We proactively get involved when help is needed.

Respect and Openness

We know that we’re working with human beings with their own lives, concerns, and perspectives. We strive for charitable interpretation and empathy. We value constructive disagreement and challenging assumptions, but only when this is done with respect. We realize that even if you are an expert in some area, you can still learn from the fresh perspectives of novices, which means humility is not only reasonable, but essential to overcoming blind spots.

The Right Tool for the Job

We know that in software engineering, there are no silver bullets. No language, framework, tool, or process is “The One, True Way”. We look for the right tool for the job, and depending on the circumstances, this may or may not be Wallaroo!

Adaptability

Our engineers have to be ready to adapt to changing circumstances and temporarily take on roles that might be a bit outside their job description. We value comfort with uncertainty and an openness to experimentation.

Everyone a Teacher

In a smaller startup, we need everyone to be a generalist to some degree. That’s part of the reason we value sharing knowledge, skills, and perspectives so much. Our engineers are eager to keep learning, but they’re also eager to teach their colleagues what they know, and to experiment with more effective ways to make this kind of information readily available.

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity in our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.

People-first company, design-first home.

We are a design-first, home furnishing company focusing on the habits of urban dwellers and first time home buyers. We pride ourselves on the best in class customer happiness, providing the highest possible quality products that are affordable for the majority and assembly that isn’t dreadful.

As a people-first company, we understood from day one the importance of being fully distributed. We encourage everyone to work in a whichever manner that helps them perform their best.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

You’ll be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of transportation, warehousing, and order fulfillment for Nathan James. You’ll help the operations team by managing relationships with all logistics 3rd parties, assisting with high level planning, continual improvement implementation, and creative cost reduction ideation/execution. As the driver of the Logistics Division, you will also have ample opportunity to carve out your own passion projects related to operational improvements and cost reductions.

A deep understanding of operations management, particularly focused on inbound and outbound modeling, is a pre-requisite for succeeding in this role. Managing both an internal team and external partners also requires being able to provide support from multiple perspectives regarding any aspect related to operational processes. Since this division and these processes are susceptible to continual change, the ideal candidate has the unique ability to quickly learn and teach these procedures.

During training, you’ll be expected to be proactive in your process and learn quickly. Once fully up-to-speed (2-3 months), you’ll have a complete understanding and ownership of day-to-day operations, provide managerial guidance to members of the Logistics Division, have the ability to monitor and report on Logistics KPIs, as well as, be able to verify and approve all invoices related to the Logistics Division.

ABOUT YOU:

We’re looking for someone with the ability to work in an agile environment by being proactive, flexible, efficient and task-focused. This means being a great problem-solver and having the technical strengths to find solutions and correct unforeseen issues extremely quickly. You should be able to constantly juggle daily decisions that directly impact the divisional KPIs, planning of logistics activity and growing volumes for 6-12 months out, as well as re-enforcing/implementing procedures to standardize divisional activity. You have a strong team mentality and ability to not only do what is asked, but to do what you believe is needed.

You can attribute most of what you love about the projects and tasks you work on to having an element of problem solving. You have a pragmatic mind that enables you to be decisive, but you understand the theoretical practices of optimizing supply chains and how important it is to continue to implement where feasible. Logistics has always been an area of interest to you because you enjoy the challenges involved with continually fine-tuning processes and you welcome new challenges that seem to occur in a field with so many moving parts. It excites you to be a leader in the operational backbone of a company continuing to reach new heights every year.

We would like to see at a minimum of three years’ experience in designing operational systems, managing 3PL/warehouses, handling order fulfillment, and managing others in the logistics field. Advanced ability in excel, database management, project management, time management and the ability to manage people is essential to success in this role. The ideal candidate would also have a degree in a quantitative discipline with extensive education and/or experience within the logistics field of a primarily e-commerce company.

For this role, please note that our current 3PL operates between 7am-4pm PST. While it will not be required for you to work during these hours, there will be days where orders will need to be monitored and troubleshot throughout operating hours to ensure on-time delivery.

This is a remote role, since we are a remote/fully distributed company! You’re free to work where you work best, anywhere in the world: home office, coworking space, or coffee shops. You should be comfortable working remotely, that hinges on effective writing, self-discipline, and comfort with open communication.
