Overview:

As our Director of Marketing you’ll be responsible for efficiently engaging and acquiring new users through marketing strategies that can scale. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead the marketing department in developing, implementing, measuring, and optimizing the strategy and execution needed to scale our customer base, hitting ambitious annual growth targets.

Use your strategic and tactical skills to set goals through measurable KPIs, monitor customer trends, and assess campaign performance. Exercise your creative problem solving skills as you work side by side with a small, experienced marketing team to make cost-effective and measurable gains.

Duties:

  • Lead and develop an exceptional Marketing team that lives Smile’s values: Passion for the Customer, Teamwork, Accountability, and Integrity
  • Build and update a comprehensive quarterly marketing plan
  • Assume responsibility for the company & product brands, lead and demand generation, content marketing, marketing operations, advertising, sponsorships, and all communications
  • Develop a detailed, technical understanding of the productivity software space
  • Deploy cost-effective strategies to increase pipeline of qualified leads through to sales
  • Assume responsibility for all marketing-related vendor relationships and spend
  • Revamp marketing automation processes, in collaboration with the business operations team
  • Be at the forefront of marketing trends and emerging opportunities
  • Contribute to product marketing and business development efforts
  • Recruit and manage team members as needed


Requirements:

  • 5+ years software marketing experience, ideally in B2B SaaS
  • Previous track record of success growing an organization, preferably in an evolving SaaS environment
  • Experience leading and managing a marketing team
  • Ability to align strategies with different teams, including product, sales, and customer success
  • Quantitative: deep experience in marketing analytics and data-driven decision-making
  • Excellent written communication
  • Experience selecting, negotiating with, and managing external vendors, consultants, and freelancers
  • Experience and some personal expertise with SEO/SEM

We are looking for an Engineering Lead to help manage and scale our development teams. In this role, you’ll work with a distributed team of engineers all across the globe. This is a fully remote/distributed position with the opportunity to have a real impact on the teams you manage, as well as our product offerings.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage a globally distributed team of engineers.
  • Scale the team by developing and executing a hiring roadmap.
  • Ensure team success by leading our onboarding and performance management processes.
  • Develop project plans to align your team’s work with the company product strategy and plans.
  • Manage software projects for your teams. Be hands on with your team to help define architectural direction, and make critical tradeoff decisions.
  • Maintain status, identify and resolve roadblocks, and communicate status both inside and outside your teams.
  • Ensure alignment with proper development standards and coding practices.
  • Interact with customers as necessary to ensure a great customer experience.


Requirements:

  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or relevant experience.
  • 2+ years of experience managing software engineering teams and 5+ years of hands-on experience working as a software engineer building products.
  • Ability to dive deep when necessary and help the team solve problems and make the right decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and grow engineers that you’ve managed.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver quality software based on a defined plan.
  • Experience with performance management.
  • Experience defining and delivering on a hiring roadmap.
  • Strong experience with tools we use: Go, JavaScript, React, CircleCI (or similar), Docker

You will join a small but profitable start-up with the ability to shape and grow our software. We are looking for a self-motivated developer that is comfortable working on a cloud-based full stack built with Go, PHP, and JavaScript for both customer-facing and internal applications. In your role, you will join a small team of software developers to build new software, new features, and maintain existing functionality.

Skills & Requirements

  • 1+ year professional coding with Golang 3+ years professional coding with PHP, Python, Ruby, or another server-side scripting language 2+ years professional coding with JavaScript 3+ years professional experience using a SQL database such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or MSSQL
  • Experience integrating RESTful and/or gRPC APIs Ability to design and implement solutions to both frontend and backend problems from a non-technical specification into a finished feature
  • Exposure to DevOps practices including infrastructure as code, continuous integration, monitoring, and logging Comfortable developing in a Mac or Linux environment Familiarity with event-based functional architectures Familiarity with MVC or MVVM architectures Security-conscious practices in any software built


Desirable Qualifications

Experience with cloud-based distributed systems on providers such as AWS Experience with docker or container technologies Experience with CDNs Experience developing web-based business applications with complex workflows Database administration experience including setting up and maintaining replication servers Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science or related discipline
