What you'll do

We're looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to help us apply the recent advances in machine learning to ad blocking problems. In this position you would be expected to build and maintain our internal tools, like admincer, manage inference infrastructure, and integrate trained models into our products. You will be interfacing with machine learning models, deep understanding of machine learning techniques is desirable. You will be part of a team focused on automating ad blocking. This will involve proactively identifying, framing and solving problems.


After your morning coffee, you'll be expected to:

  • Build and maintain internal tools for curation of our datasets
  • Deploy and support ML models on the server-side
  • Develop and maintain tools and processes for annotation of ad detection datasets
  • Implement data collection and inference routines in both Python and Javascript


What you bring to the table:

  • Applied machine learning background
  • Ability to proactively and autonomously solve problems
  • Experience implementing machine learning in Python
  • Working knowledge in JavaScript and Web development
  • Experience with either TensorFlow or PyTorch for both training and inference tasks
  • Experience deploying machine learning projects to real users
  • Experience working remotely
  • Experience working in Agile teams

Phase 1: TestBoom

Through TestBoom, we are able to quantify the probability of a successful product launch. We do this by driving traffic to a marketing funnel we build for our clients and plugging the metrics into our predictive model.

Phase 2: LaunchBoom

Products that pass TestBoom, automatically go to our LaunchBoom program. During LaunchBoom, our team is primarily focused on building a pre-launch email list before the crowdfunding campaign launches. We use this community to have a "LaunchBoom" which means to hit your crowdfunding goal within the first day. A successful LaunchBoom program will yield 6 and 7 figure crowdfunding campaigns in the course of a few months.

Phase 3: ScaleBoom

Once a campaign is successful through LaunchBoom, we take the best products into our ScaleBoom program. Our team is now the experts at marketing the products and we use our knowledge to scale their brand through eCommerce.

ScaleBoom is a new initiative for LaunchBoom that has already seen major growth in the span of 2 quarters.


SUMMARY

The Paid Media Specialist will assist a multifaceted team responsible for scaling LaunchBoom clients’ brands through eCommerce. This role will be responsible for fostering current client relationships and paid media initiatives to meet both LaunchBoom and client goals.

Ecommerce is a new initiative for LaunchBoom. An important aspect of the role is the ability to develop scalable and systematized paid media systems — ones that deliver a highly valuable experience for both clients and customers that increases retention and turns them into raving fans.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Pay Per Click and Paid Social Campaigns

  • Plan and execute ROI focused campaigns for DTC clients on Facebook, Google and other paid social media platforms
  • Conduct thorough keyword, search term and industry analysis
  • Continuous optimization of all campaigns to increase ROAS and campaign performance
  • Write compelling ad copy focusing on conversions
  • Continuous measurement and reporting of campaign performance
  • Recommend and assist internal team on overall client strategies and priorities
  • Work with design team to create static, dynamic and video assets
  • Assist in prioritizing growth initiatives and change needs
  • Communicate status reporting and escalation of issues
  • Work across the entire organization to execute the plan and serve the company’s needs

Performance and Process Improvement

  • Work with sales and marketing to support client growth for ScaleBoom
  • Assist in analyzing effectiveness of current campaigns and strategies
  • Obsess about experience and continuous improvement for both internal and external clients
  • Analyze client feedback and market trends to improve client experience and business performance
  • Take pride in ScaleBoom and hold all efforts to the highest standard


EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will:

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience within consumer eCommerce or an eCommerce agency

  • Competence in Shopify functionality and limitations as well as other key software tools used
  • Demonstrated success scaling performance marketing campaigns profitably
  • Experience analyzing and recommending performance marketing strategies

  • Functional creative assignments include:
  • HTML/XHTML table based layout for emails
  • Web-based native advertisements and landing pages using HTML5, CSS3, Flexbox and JavaScript.
  • HTML5 banner ads with CSS animation and JavaScript leveraging the GreenSock animation library
  • Assist in making changes to previously-created web-based graphics (e.g. banners, icons, buttons, backgrounds, etc.)
  • Create and edit clean markup that follows current best practices in the industry
  • Assist in full cross platform testing of coded creatives

  • Create and edit print-based mock-ups of drivers and PDFs
  • Maintain integrity of multiple brands and style guidelines
  • Understanding of clients regulatory submission process and timelines

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • 4 Year College Degree in Graphic Design or other related discipline
  • 2 years digital graphic design and/or front end web design experience preferred
  • Solid understanding of Responsive Design
  • Basic CSS animation, JavaScript and jQuery skills, or the ability to learn these skills if taught
  • Adept HTML5, CSS3, XHTML and Adobe Creative Suite (specifically InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop) skills.
  • The ability to use Development and Debugging tools for Cross-Browser issues.
  • The ability to write code inside multiple frameworks.
  • The ability to code emails that will render the same across all major email clients.
  • Ability to send email tests within SailThru, SendGrid and WhatCounts and other ESPs.
