You will be a part of our leadership team and will be expected to make projections, set targets, and achieve or exceed them.

  • Own Octane AI's PR, PPC, SEO, SEM, and social media lead generation.
  • Prioritize Octane AI's marketing initiatives based on experience, data, and opportunity.
  • Collaborate with our customers, agency partners, and technology partners on key marketing initiatives.
  • Develop Octane AI's demand generation strategy and execution.
  • Meticulously measure the ROI of all marketing campaigns and activities and use the data to drive decisions and projections.
  • Work closely with the sales, product, and account management teams to uncover key needs and opportunities.
  • Serve on the executive leadership team and provide input, advice, and debate on key decisions.
  • Manage and coach Octane AI's superstar marketing team and help them execute and grow into their full potential.
  • Manage Octane AI's marketing automation and CRM.

Who You Are

  • You have director-level experience and proven experience managing a marketing team.
  • You have many years of experience in SaaS marketing and have held leadership positions at early stage, fast-growing SaaS companies.
  • You have an indisputable and verifiable track record you are proud of and can point to.
  • You are looking to lead a team and have a voice at the senior management table.
  • You have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. You are a people person, adept at building friendships and relationships externally and internally. You believe empathy is valuable.
  • You are detail-oriented and obsessed with tracking and delivering results.
  • You're an expert in marketing automation, content marketing, email marketing, demand generation, product marketing, and SaaS lead generation and pipeline growth. You can do all these things yourself and are excited to coach others on these areas.
  • You want to join a fast-growing startup and are willing to be hands-on with our marketing campaigns and tools.
  • You are proactive, data-driven, and solutions-oriented: Once a problem is identified, you are passionate about finding the solution.

You can communicate your decisions and opinions clearly and concisely to all stakeholders, including a board of directors.

  • You are extraordinarily capable of speaking in front of a large crowd or a small room and adjusting your tone and messaging accordingly.
  • You can do more with less.
  • You are self-driven.
  • You make decisions with clear reasoning, logic, and data.

More about working at Octane AI

  • We believe the happier you are, the more productive you and the team are. Being a remote company allows us to work from wherever we'd prefer. Spend your evenings and weekends with your family/friends/hobbies.
  • We hate bureaucracy. Feel free to talk to anyone on the team.
  • Your ideas are welcome. If you know how to improve our workflow, our product, our processes, don't be shy to share it.
  • In our weekly meetings, we do a fun thing called "fast parrot". Everybody, including the CEO, is involved. It's a little weird and fun at the same time, especially if you are doing a meeting from a public place.
  • We iterate quickly. Projects generally take days or weeks, not months. We have a collaborative environment where you can share a work in progress and get feedback quickly. We like to get something in the hands of customer and get their feedback as quickly as possible.
  • Don't work if you are sick. It's way better to rest and recover quicker than work at half power for a long time.
  • If you feel you are stuck with a task don't hesitate to ask for help. There are no stupid questions and nobody expects you to know everything.

Company: Doubledot Media
Website: https://www.doubledotmedia.com
Headquarters: Christchurch, New Zealand

Doubledot Media is a New Zealand-based company creating online tools and training for people looking to start their own online businesses. We’re based in Christchurch, but the majority of our team work remotely from various places around the world.

We have a part-time (weekend hours) customer success position available to work with our SaleHoo customers.

SaleHoo.com is a carefully curated directory of over 8,000 wholesale and dropship suppliers. Our customers use our directory as a safer and easier way to find suppliers for goods to sell on eBay, Amazon or in their own eCommerce store.

Our new customer support representative will play a vital role in answering customer queries, providing guidance (and sometimes a little common sense) and generally making sure our members receive all the help and care we can give them.

We're looking for someone with great (written) people skills, a fair amount of cleverness, the ability to Get Things Done, and a genuine desire to help the good people of the internet succeed.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Responding to customer and pre-purchase emails about our SaleHoo.com products.
  • Moderating and answering questions on our members' forum.
  • Searching the internet for quality suppliers to add to our wholesale directory.
  • Contacting wholesalers to verify their authenticity, and to gather information for our directory.
  • Using our directory to create tailored lists of wholesalers for customers wanting to sell a particular kind of product.
  • Solving technical problems the customer might be having with their account.
  • Recording FAQs and other information as required.
  • Searching our database for customer information and updating records.

You'll need:

  • Excellent written English and a friendly manner in writing. You should be able to build a rapport with customers via email.
  • Common sense and the ability to "read between the lines" to understand what customers are concerned about.
  • Empathy and patience to deal with customers with different backgrounds and levels of technical ability. You'll be clear, patient and pleasant.
  • Meticulous attention to detail. Your spelling and grammar should be top-notch.
  • Good time management skills. Since this can be a remote working position, you'll need to be organized, motivated, and (dare we say) a "self-starter".
  • Good internet research skills for digging up hard-to-find suppliers, and for sniffing around to make sure they're legit!
  • The ability to learn new software and systems. You'll be working with our customer support software and content management system, so it's good if you're a quick learner and not fazed by learning new tools.
  • A background in selling online, Shopify or experience in the wholesale industry is highly desirable.

Neat things about working with us:

  • Work from home (or from our Christchurch office)
  • Relaxed, ego-free, family-friendly work culture
  • Need a few more reasons? Read what current and former staff have to say…
  • If you'd like to come work in our Christchurch office in Ferrymead, you also get:
  • Weekly Friday BBQ (or sushiBQ, or ThaiBQ)
  • Novelty coffee mugs
  • An extremely comfortable chair
  • Tap dancing seagulls

How to apply

We're going to level with you here: We usually get a lot of applications, and a lot of them are not very inspiring.

We're looking for people with good problem-solving skills, good communication skills, and the willingness to go the extra mile for our customers, so here’s what you need to do.

  • Record a short (2-3 minute) cover letter video and upload it somewhere where we can see it. Tell us a little bit about yourself, and why you think you’d be great for this role, please include your eCommerce experience.
  • Create an email for jobs@doubledotmedia.com (Subject: SaleHoo Customer Success Position)
  • Give us the link to your video inside the email
  • Attach your CV/resume in PDF format and send
