Some of the meaningful work you will perform:
  • PHP/Python: You will need to have strong object-oriented design and development skills and advanced knowledge of PHP, Python or similar programming languages. Knowledge and experience with third party libraries, frameworks, and technologies is a plus.
  • Database: You will need to have strong SQL composition skills. Knowledge of big data and NoSql databases is a plus! We not only write software that collects and queries data, but we also compose queries for investigation and analysis. We collect a lot of data in real time from our applications and being able to compose ad hoc queries is necessary to develop and support our products.
  • Guidance: Participate in and guide engineer teams on all things technical – Architecture definition & Design ownership that not only include technology but Data Security aspects, Deployment & Cloud strategy, CI/CD, as well as coding best practices.
  • Analysis & Problem Solving: You will need to understand our codebase and systems and the business requirements they implement so you can effectively make changes to our applications and investigate issues.
  • Communication: Whether via face-to-face discussion, phone, email, chat, white-boarding, or other collaboration platforms, you must be an effective communicator who can inform, explain, enable, teach, persuade, coordinate, etc.
  • Team Collaboration: You must be able to effectively collaborate and share ownership of your team’s codebase and applications. You must be willing to fully engage in team efforts, speak up for what you think are the best solutions, and be able to converse respectfully and compromise when necessary.

Knowledge and Experience: A well-rounded software engineer will have broad and/or deep knowledge of various topics, tools, frameworks, and methodologies related to software engineering. None are required, but the more you can bring, the better. Here are some examples:
  • Laravel, Yii and similar frameworks
  • Strong API knowledge and development
  • Git and GitHub
  • Big Data solutions such as Cassandra, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka and Elastic Search
  • Continuous integration and automated testing
  • Agile/Scrum
  • Open source projects
  • Server-side JavaScript, TypeScript and Node.js
  • Familiarity with DevOps configuration tools (Git, Jira, Jenkins, etc.)

We welcome your talents and experience:
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or equivalent work experience
  • Technical Leader with at least 10+ years of work in Software Engineering
  • Webservices and API development experience within a startup and/or e-commerce environment
  • A distinguished member of engineering community, either through extracurricular activities, publications, associations with orgs (i.e., IEEE, etc.)
  • Demonstrated history of living the values important to Givelify such as integrity and ethics

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Identifying and mitigating security risks
  • Conduct network monitoring and intrusion detection analysis using various Computer Network Defense (CND) tools, such as Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), Firewalls, Host Based Security System (HBSS), etc.

  • Recording of results once per quarter

  • Management and coordination of Penetration Testing
  • External Pen Tests
  • Internal Pen Tests

  • Performance of Internal Firewall pen testing in all Clusters
  • Required once per year per PCI 3.2

  • Development and execution of required remediation
  • Provide incident response support, including mitigating actions to contain activity and facilitating forensics analysis when necessary
  • Protecting Chrome River data, information, assets, and other resources
  • Provide analytical and technical security recommendations to other team members, oversight boards, and clients; Identify requirements, based upon need or as the result of a security issue that puts organizations systems at risk
  • Oversee the correlation of network activity across networks to identify trends of unauthorized use
  • Implement and manage patching processes for servers, network, and storage devices
  • Work with DevOps and SysOps teams to develop documentation to support ongoing security systems operations, maintenance, and specific problem resolution
  • Participate in annual incident response and disaster recovery tests.
  • Assisting with compliance regulations
  • Active member in technical workgroups to recommend effective security configurations and architecture
  • Assist in all security compliance and audits associated with each (PCI, SOC, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field

Required Experience:
  • Technical expertise in analyzing threat event data, evaluating malicious activity, documenting unusual files and data, and identifying tactics, techniques and procedures used by attackers
  • Experience performing penetration tests.
  • 2-4 years Information Security Experience

Preferred Experience
  • Knowledge of web architectures and technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, XML, REST, SOAP
  • Expertise in TCP/IP
  • Strong understanding of common network vulnerabilities, OS vulnerabilities (Linux, Windows and OSX), patching and attack patterns
  • Expertise with OWASP/NIST security concepts and common application security risks, such as XSS, XSRF, SQL Injection, Cookie Manipulation among others
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Vulnerability Management tools such as Rapid 7 Nexpose and Nessus

Responsibilities:
  • Own the overall design and user experience for Pearl’s product suite.
  • Lead the redesign of Pearl’s homeowner facing product.
  • Translate abstract ideas and requirements into tangible and beautiful design deliverables.
  • Creation of wireframes, high fidelity mockups and visual assets.
  • Prepare design assets for development team and work closely with developers to ensure product meets design specifications

  • 5 + years of experience in UI/UX design.
