JOB HIRING: Freelance Technical Writer / Documentation / Support - MyGet (remote)

Are you familiar with software development in .NET, JavaScript, Java and the JVM or PHP? Do you have experience with package managers like NuGet, npm, Bower, Maven, PHP Composer or VSIX? Are you great at explaining technical concepts in an easy way? At MyGet, we're looking for someone to assist us in revising our documentation website - rewriting existing docs and adding additional topics and building out content.
We are looking for a part-time, remote freelancer with a technical background. You will research, write, and update existing (and new) documentation for our product. You will be part of our support team as well, mainly to identify opportunities and missing areas in our docs, blogs and samples. You may write code samples and blog posts, inviting new users to try our product and become badass through technical, focused documentation.
Together with the team you will:
  • Provide technical support for MyGet via email and social media.
  • Spot opportunities to enhance the MyGet documentation, improving customer support and user experience in the long term.
  • Take part in discussions and development of new features based on the customers problems and/or needs.
  • Build out technical documentation and technical content for our blog.
Sounds interesting? Here's who we are looking for:
  • Freelancer interested in a remote, part-time project.
  • Experience with remote work.
  • Creative, persuasive writing in English.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Familiarity with development practices in .NET, JavaScript, Java and the JVM or PHP. Or all of them.
  • Not afraid to speak up, not afraid to build their own agenda to advance our product.
Still with us? Good! Here's what we offer:
  • Opportunity in the fascinating world of package and dependency management.
  • Become part of a no-nonsense startup.
  • Have freedom within the general direction we're following.
  • Have freedom to steer that direction.
  • Invoicing based on project, time, value. Let's discuss!

Apply!

Want to apply? Reach out to us and tell us who you are and what your experience is. We're looking forward to hearing from you! Send your email to: wedoreply@myget.org
