Pearl Certification seeks a Senior UI/UX Designer to own the overall design and user experience for Pearl’s product suite. The ideal candidate for this position will be someone who loves the challenge of taking complex concepts and designing an intuitive user experience for the customer. This candidate is excited by the opportunity to define the design process at a fast-growing startup and looks forward to making an outsized impact for Pearl’s customers.

Founded in May 2015, Pearl is a national firm that provides third-party certification of high-performing homes: homes that are healthy, comfortable, resilient, and energy efficient. Pearl’s certification drives demand for these improvements by capturing their value for resale and appraisal. Pearl will transform the residential market by certifying 10% of the U.S. housing stock by 2030 - helping lower our nation’s carbon emissions while improving the lives of millions of US homeowners.

Pearl qualifies a network of contractors that improve homes’ performance, and real estate professionals that ensure these homes are properly marketed and valued when sold. When marketed correctly, Pearl Certified homes can add 5% or more to a home’s sale price.


Responsibilities:
  • Own the overall design and user experience for Pearl’s product suite.
  • Lead the redesign of Pearl’s homeowner facing product.
  • Translate abstract ideas and requirements into tangible and beautiful design deliverables.
  • Creation of wireframes, high fidelity mockups and visual assets.
  • Prepare design assets for development team and work closely with developers to ensure product meets design specifications
  • Participate in usability testing and user research.
  • Collaborate with our marketing department to ensure consistent application of Pearl’s brand.

 Desired skills and experience:
  • 5 + years of experience in UI/UX design.
  • Portfolio of previous work demonstrating exceptional UI/UX design.
  • Proficient with design tools like balsamiq, figma, adobe creative suite.
  • Proficient with HTML/CSS.
  • Demonstrated ability to work closely with a diverse group of stakeholders from developers to internal and external customers.
  • Experience working in a fast paced, iterative environment where multi-tasking and time-management skills are critical.
  • A demonstrable track record of success in a distributed/remote work environment
