Book Learn Pass is a website built to help learner drivers in the UK find a driving instructor and book driving lessons in their local area. The business was started in 2018 and it’s fast becoming the go-to place to find a driving instructor in the UK.


Job Description

We are seeking a highly confident and motivated WordPress developer to take over and manage the back-end development of the website. The job role is 100% remote and you’ll be working in a team of 3. The team will be made up of one back-end developer (you) a front-end developer and a quality assurance manager.

You will need an advanced understanding of WordPress, PHP7, HTML5, CSS and Javascript. Experience with node.js is a bonus but it’s not required. The ideal candidate (you) should have a strong interest in Wordpress speed optimization as improving website performance will be top of your to-do-list.


Responsibilities
  • Refactoring the current codebase to find efficiencies and improve website performance
  • Developing key frameworks to help the business reach its objectives
  • Reimagining the current site architecture
  • Building new plugins to help the business reach its objectives

Skills
  • Good understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery
  • Experience building custom plugins and forking existing plugins
  • Experience using Google’s chrome lighthouse
  • Comfortable working with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome inspector, etc.
